I got a lovely surprise in the mail yesterday (and I don't mean my powercord arriving a day early...though that was WONDERFUL) I got my first ever VoxBox from Influenster basically the premise is this...they send me goodies and I review them using my awesome online presence...and as you all know from my paper reviews I really enjoy reviewing things!
The Splenda Nectresse had me a bit worried though, I never find sugar substitutes at all tasty...even the supposed all natural ones always seem to taste kinda wrong to me. But I was intrigued by the sweetness being extract from Monk Fruit so...why not? Before I dumped a packet into my tea possibly ruining it I decided to do the old finger dipped in sugar test...turns out it tastes pretty good! It tastes like sugar but slightly cleaner (I don't know how to explain it other than that) and slightly like nectar. I dumped some in my Assam Tea and had a taste. It wasn't bad at all...did not really alter the tea taste in any way other than make it sweet. I will use the rest of my box for sure but not sure if I will buy it since I do not need to watch my caloric intake (except that I need more because I am skinny) but I will certainly recommend it to anyone who needs a sugar substitute.
I have mixed feelings on the Vaseline Spray & Go. The idea is fabulous...I loathe greasy lotion...also I have really sensitive skin and have a very hard time wearing lotions or purfumes. At times it makes me feel like less of a woman because I LOVE all those pampery type things. The spray on part worked great and made my skin feel very smooth after rubbing it in...with very little slimy lotion feel. I did find the smell to be a bit too strong for me but it did fade pretty quickly. The one really bad thing about this lotion is about 5 minutes later the place I tested it in broke out in hives. *sigh* A good scrubbing and topical antihistamine took care of the problems but I won't be using the lotion again. I will be recommending it to friends though!
Maybe it has to do with my Sjrogren's syndrome and the fact that I am pretty sure my mouth actually hates me but the toothpaste and mouthwash did not agree so well with me. First off I am not really supposed to use whitening products because of all the dental work and oral sensitivity I have. I have really discolored teeth and unless I get dentures I always will. I love my new fixed smile though so I could care less about stained teeth from horrid medications. But I am the adventurous type so I gave it a go...I don't like mint, I use a fancy organic Ginger flavored toothpaste because I dislike mint so much, it hurts my teeth and gives me heartburn. I found that the toothpaste felt like normal toothpaste, no real ill side effects just minty and whitening. The mouthwash on the otherhand felt like a kick in the face!! It made my mouth and tongue burn so badly that I almost started crying...even after I rinsed it all out really well it still tingled wildly for hours.
I love the new toothbrush and will recommend it to anyone. The toothpaste is fine if you are into that...not sure I can recommend the mouthwash...perhaps I will get Ben to try it and if he reports no ill side effects then it was just my bad luck.
Thank you Influentster, you introduced me to some great new products that I will be either using in the future or telling my friends about!!
"I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes."
